What astounds me about this particular video is that how Neil and Chris took another approach with London: The real London that is. Now their West End Girls video, did have a wee bit feel of the real London: the part where they walk off in the beginning after the clips of shots of them and so on and seeing parts of the West End Girls, but the song and the video is so spectacular, you don't really focus on that. Neil said in the "PopArt" commentary that it was supposedly a travel log of London for people in America. After seeing a video like that, you would want to go to London! But this music video London, is more of revealing what you don't actually see or think of the city. I also love how they had footage of these two artists traveling around like in some documentary or something(makes me wish I was a big artist!), and Neil playing his acoustic guitar and Chris with his mini keyboard are at different locations and have the guitar case open so a random pedestrian put some change in it; areas you wouldn't think that London would have. How London is seen by this video, almost looks like a posh version of Los Angeles, like the sewage, mini markets, homeless people etc. You would think the United Kingdom is full of crumpets and tea, everything fancy all the time, oh this music video would take all the sugar-coated images of what you thought you knew. It is a dynamic but melancholy video as well. It definitely makes you think about life and appreciating all the good things you have when struggling, I know how that feels since I struggle myself as an upcoming artist. It also reminds me of Hanson's "Weird" video because how the bands both perform outside of the area or in a big city and so on.
